Group Facilitation and Open Forums

Group Facilitation (FG) is a set of technical skills and tools within the methodology of the Process Work which creates the conditions that allow a satisfactory development of the processes that are lived within the groups. Group Facilitation can contribute to:
• Improve the quality of group processes.
• Save time in terms of efficiency and efficiency of the processes.
• Transform conflicts into spaces for reflection and action.
• Replace the group's organizational forms for equity and balance of power to be effective (or to ensure equity and balance of power).
• Promote the participation and commitment of the people involved.
This tool is aimed at different groups, organizations and public and private organizations, various, small, large ... Find important the search for how to challenge human conflicts, find new ways of understanding us as social beings and To make the principles of community and of coexistence in diversity more sustainable.

The Facilitation of Groups is ideal in the following contexts:

• When a group wants to achieve their goals in a more efficient, efficient and sustainable way.
• When making an important decision as a group, or when they want to improve decision-making processes.
• When it is tried to improve or speed up the work or group meetings.
• In delicate or difficult times, when there are conflicts and it is necessary to generate a framework to transform them.
• At any time of the life or group operation in which the group requires to build a new framework or a special space in which all the voices are heard.

The Open Forums are democratic, structured and face-to-face meetings in which all people should feel represented. They are facilitated in a "deeply" democratic way, which means that it is a space to express the deepest dreams and feelings: "... the conflict in itself is the fastest way to create a community ...". They are public spaces that host open discussions about community or social issues and are an ideal framework for a community to know the great diversity of ideas and feelings of their participants.

They take their model of ancestral rites that have taken place one way or another in most of the world's cultures. They differ from the current citizen assemblies, which tend to uni-dimensional formats, because they are based on the need to address the complex problems of organizations and the community, bearing in mind that human experiences are intense, emotional, and above all, traumatic .

We think that this type of format is important when it comes to the need to:

• redistribute power and give importance to the mood of the groups
• Talk about different issues that are not resolved or difficult to solve
• respond to feelings of frustration, which we often have, because of mistrust or fear in the higher spheres of power
• Challenge the despair to make changes
• Rethinking with the desire to build community and experience it.
