The term “Ašun me” reflects the core aim of the project: to amplify the voices of Roma youth so they can be heard and take part in political and social decision-making processes.

Ašun me is an Erasmus+ project that promotes the political and social participation of Roma youth across six European countries. Through the innovative use of documentary film and art as tools for transformation, the program fosters collaboration among Roma youth, youth workers, and policy makers.

Objectives

The main objective of the project is to develop the skills and capacities of Roma youth and youth workers by supporting them to:

Collaborate under a common strategy and establish connections with policy makers.
Develop competencies in policy-making, monitoring, advocacy, and the creation of civic-focused short films.
Engage with policy makers by presenting their needs, challenges, and possible solutions through dialogue and art (short films), and take part in public policy-making processes.

Target Group

Roma youth aged 16 to 25 interested in civic participation.
Youth workers who work with Roma youth and vulnerable groups, including those based in youth centers, Roma community centers, second-chance programs, NGOs, civic education initiatives, and social support services.

Activities

Identification of learning needs through research conducted in all partner countries.
Development of a training manual for Roma youth and youth workers.
12 national cooperation workshops for Roma youth and youth workers.
Design and pilot testing of a training program for Roma youth.
Creation and pilot implementation of an artistic toolkit for Roma youth.
Roundtable discussions with policy makers.
Digital booklet compiling proposed policy changes.
Presentation of 18 public policy proposals for the National Roma Integration Strategy.
